Srinagar, Mar 12 (KNO): Despite the closure of the national highway, Srinagar's mandi stands stocked with an abundance of vegetables and fruits, President of the Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union said on Tuesday.
“As the month of Ramadan has arrived, preparations are in full swing to meet the increased demand for fresh produce. The Srinagar mandi has been well-prepared to cater to the needs of the people during this auspicious period,” the union president Bashir Ahmad Basher told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
He said watermelons, melons, papayas and various other fruits are available in good quantities.
Asked about concerns raised regarding the consumption of early-ripened fruits, Bashir said only the experts could provide accurate insights on the matter.
He assured the public of the quality and freshness of the available produce, saying the mandi is fully stocked with a wide range of fruits and vegetables to meet the needs of consumers.
"With the spirit of Ramadan, the Srinagar's Mandi is stocked up,” he added—(KNO)
